Joshua L. Yearout did this research while employed as an archivist in Special Collections at Wichita State University Library. A version of this served as his thesis for a Master of Arts in Public History.

Joshua died four years later in 2009 at age 33. His love for this topic, thoroughness, and crisp writing style are evident in every page.
