I’ve always enjoyed intrigue, so on April 14, 2010, a meeting with two military historians, Merlin and Anton, set my investigative energies on a mission to explore Dwight D. Eisenhower’s very secret military event, Exercise Tiger, in preparation for WW II D-Day invasion. It would be a journey of many years of intrigue filled with many military secrets and Toerber family secrets, surprises, and mysteries unfolding many resultant “Links” that would emerge to help tell this story. I found the trek to be educational and intriguing as well very rewarding. To this day well over 75 years later, there is speculation that the government deliberately falsified information forwarded to the “next-of-kin” pertaining to the true Exercise Tiger circumstances of April 28, 1944.
